14./15. December

Oh my, another week has passed again! How does time just fly by like this? Only a little over a week more and it will be christmas! I won't tell you what's ahead of me until then, because then I won't have anything to talk about anymore!
Kevin and I went into the city to the river promenade to attempt busking for the first time (singing in the street). Following hazards prevented a successful experience: Too many artists in one spot, not loud enough, quick exhaustion of my voice. Over all we made a great 6 dollars thirty from which we allowed ourselves to share an icecream. Guess which type? The hobbit ice cream! Chocolate and caramel - that's how I always imagined a hobbit to taste like! With our treat we sat down on Fed Square and watched the same street performer with the same gags who I have seen the fifth time now. He is there every time I head into the city. On this occasion something was different, however: I burnt my forehead.
Today I realized a few things, about the Australian life. Yoghurt and cream cheese suck. Who really knows me also know how they are two ingredients my every day life is usually based around. The yoghurt is not soft, easily separates and then doesn't mix when stirred. The cream cheese just tastes like nothing and is the uncreamiest cheese which I have ever tasted. Luckily I noticed, that I can eat avocado on toast without cream cheese as well (though it will never be the same). Therefore, I consume about 3/4 of an avocado everyday. And kiwis too. At least that sounds somewhat healthy.
Another thing which I have mentioned numerous times before: Public transport. I found out, that I was charged 2 dollars upon boarding the train and then, twenty minutes later when I touched off, had to pay another 3,5 dollars! That just doesn't seem right and is frankly very upsetting. If anyone is ever in a too great mood, just take a bus, train or tram and the problem will be fixed.
Speaking about cultures/ways of life. I tried a sticky date pudding (which is actually a cake with dates and mango sauce - I mean, who thinks of these things?). This is an old English traditional food. As is porridge. And meat pies. Beside the delicious English breakfast I don't think I was meant to live their either as long as I would have to eat their foods. What are English fish and chips like again? They are another thing, I don't like here. The fished is doughed and fried, served with soaked lettuce leaves and fries and a weird white sauce. All this dish does is make you sick, although it always seems a great idea to have fish and chips, it rarely is.
Instead I advise you to visit Lord of the Fries. They make great American fries, chunky fries or wedges and offer a broad variety of sauces. Including the typical Belgian mayonnaise, but also a chilli mayonnaise, a mango chutney type of sauce, a vietnamese style fry sauce, a mexican one on so forth. Really great and barely more expensive than not-worth-it-one-ball-of-ice-cream.

To make this Blog more interactive: What would you guys imagine hobbit ice cream to taste like? ;) Would you prefer elves cream? Or even Orks cream?

Happy third advent everyone!
